I'm sorry! I have been neglecting you!

Hello! I'm sorry I haven't blogged in a while. Lawson hasn't done anything out of the ordinary. LOL So this is what has been going on. Thursday we went on a field trip with our homeschool group. We went to the Oriental Institue Museum. We were to have a guided tour at 10am and we had to drive to the University of Chicago on the south side of Chicago. We left at 8am, which I thought would give us plenty of time, and we didn't get there until 10:30! Rush hour traffic in the third largest city in the United States is no laughing matter. It was nuts! And I had to drive in the express lane which totally freaks me out! When we arrived at the University of Chicago I couldn't find the parking garage which was supposed to be three blocks from the museum. I was getting so mad. I almost hit an idiot on a bicycle and I yelled at him to get out of the way. I can't stand bicyclists! They think they own the road. They are everywhere and don't watch were they are going. Then, we you are stopped at a red light they look at us "car people" with disgust. Well, I'm sorry but it would be really hard to squeeze my butt into those spandex shorts and cycle four kids around! Anyway, back to the parking issue. I finally found a parking garage at the Children's Hospital about 7 blocks from the museum. I decided we would park there because we were late of the tour. We parked on the fourth floor and I pushed Chloe in the stroller and was holding the GPS for directions. Megan, Lawson, and Grace were behind me. When we got to the museum we discovered that everyone was late and they moved our tour back an hour. I was so happy that we hadn't missed it. The museum was awesome. We saw mummies, and King Tut's statue, and all kinds of things from the middle east that were thousands of years old. The tour guide was awesome. She explained everything so well for the kids. Lawson enjoyed talking to her after the tour. I was amazed at how much he learned and he talked about it all day. After the museum we had to walk in pouring rain two blocks to Reynold's hall for lunch. When we left to find our van we walked in pouring rain and thunder and lightning for about ten blocks before we discovered that we were going the wrong direction. I couldn't get the GPS out of my purse because it was raining so hard. I went back to the Reynold's Hall and left the kids with the homeschool group. Nola, our homeschool group leader, and I set out to find my van. We ran for seven blocks in pouring rain and lighting that was right over head! We finally found the van and went back for the kids. The drive home was slow because of the horrible weather. It was all worth it in the end. The kids had a great time. I had a great time. I have blisters on my feet because I was wearing flats and running in the rain.

In other news we are getting to cats! I know, I know. But the girls really want cats and at least cats don't have to be walked outside when its cold. It just means that I will have to dust and vacuum several times a week instead of just once a week because I'm allergic to cats.

In still other news we are trying to move into a four-bedroom house, hopefully soon. We are anxious to adopt. We have already contacted Bethany Christian Services, and adoption agency. We need to go to training and do our homestudy next. Billy and I are hoping that we can get this done before June.

Well, now I am off to Ladies' Bible Study. I will begin posting pictures on my next blog!
